M.R.College of Veterinary Sciences & Research Centre, located in Hassanpur, Jhajjar, Haryana, was established in 2021 by the M.R. Rural Education Society. This society, which had earlier initiated veterinary diploma courses in 2017, aimed to contribute significantly to the field of veterinary education and rural development. The college was founded with the primary objective of producing competent veterinary professionals capable of supporting livestock health, especially for farmers in rural areas. It also aims to become a centre of excellence in veterinary teaching, research, and outreach activities.
M.R.College of Veterinary Sciences & Research Centre, is situated in a semi-rural setting on the Jhajjar–Kosli Road (State Highway 22), within Jhajjar district. The total campus area spans approximately 11 acres, providing the space necessary for academic buildings, laboratories, animal sheds, hostels, and other essential facilities. The location offers both accessibility and a calm learning environment. It is about 10 kilometres from the Jhajjar Railway Station and approximately 50 kilometres from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, ensuring good connectivity for students coming from different regions.
M.R.College of Veterinary Sciences & Research Centre is approved by the Veterinary Council of India and is affiliated with Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar. This affiliation allows it to follow a recognized and structured curriculum in veterinary sciences and ensures that its graduates are eligible for registration and professional practice in India.
M.R.College of Veterinary Sciences & Research Centre, currently offers two academic programs. The flagship course is the Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), with an annual intake capacity of 60 students. In addition, it offers a Diploma in Veterinary & Livestock Development (VLDD), also with a capacity of 60 students per year.
