Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, popularly known as SKUAST-Jammu, was established on 20th September 1999 through an amendment to the SKUAST Act of 1982. Eligibility

Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Part II (12th or 10+2) or an equivalent examination from recognized board/examining body with PCB subjects, besides English and having 50% marks in aggregate for OM, NRI/ NRI-sponsored category and 40% for reserved categories. (P, C, B are Physics, Chemistry, Biology respectively)

For admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. course at SKUAST-Jammu, the age limit generally follows the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and NEET-UG norms:

Minimum Age: The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Maximum Age: The upper age limit is usually 25 years as on 31st December of the admission year. A relaxation of 5 years (up to 30 years) is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories as per government rules).

Entrance Examination :Admission is primarily through the NEET-UG score, as per the guidelines of the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

Application Form :Candidates must apply through SKUAST-Jammu’s official admission portal within the announced dates.

Merit List &Counselling :Based on NEET-UG rank and reservation norms, a merit list is prepared. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling.

Eligibility

The candidate must hold a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a recognized veterinary university or college.

 

A minimum of 6.00/10.00 OGPA or equivalent (for General category) and 5.50/10.00 OGPA or equivalent (for SC/ST/Reserved categories) is required.

The degree should be recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), and candidates must be registered with the State/VCI Veterinary Council.

Age Limit

There is no strict upper age limit for admission to M.V.Sc. in most state agricultural universities, including SKUAST-Jammu.However, candidates should generally be below 35 years at the time of admission for ICAR quota seats (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PH candidates).
